Description
This is a original white label promo copy of Gil Scott-Heron's "A New Black Poet" LP on Flying Dutchman. This LP was part of the collection of a gentleman who was a radio DJ from 1969-1972.
Condition: the jacket shows general light wear including surface scuffs, edge and corner wear. There's a dent in the center of the spine that corresponds with a dent (or two) on the center right of the gatefold front, as if there was once a rubber band around the jacket. There's a white sticker upper left front that would have been used by the radio station for filing purposes, but if there was ever anything written on it that portion has been torn off. The sticker seems to have been partially torn off at three separate spots. Upper left on back "Listen First!" is written in pen, and inside the gatefold is written "lay off this cut" with an arrow pointing to "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised." A similar message is also written on the side 1 label, saying "let's lay off this cut, it's way over played."
Visually the vinyl is strong VG+/VG++ with nice gloss and clean labels (aside from the message written in pen). Both sides show very light, superficial marks and scratches of the "sleeve rash" variety but nothing beyond that. Both sides play great with only very light surface noise.
