From my own vast private collection gathered over last 45+ years ...these mostly from 1973 - 1978 I had my own Record Store here in Northern California in the 1970's and 80's -and bringing in wonderfully vibrant and amazing Progressive Rock Imports was a top specialty and priority - I was (still am) so nuts about this music that I had 3 different evolving weekly Radio Programs dedicated to it over 20 years - and loved nothing more than turning folks on to these bands and immersing myself and my audience in these exotic sounds. Now it is finally time for me to pass them on - my hardest LPs to part with, some 8 boxes of which I shall be listing throughout this Spring. Many of the leading progenitors of the 1st progressive era, but quite a few more obscure but no less amazing artists of the period. . *Sadly I am NOT FAST at listing and can am lucky to get around 50 up at a time, but they will keep on coming (as I pause between series, to focus on top level packing and immediate shipping) so keep checking back.

More subdued than the first Gilgamesh album, but no less sublime; plying becalmed waters, creating a walking dream-like cocoon of sound, filled with myriad Canterbury moves and mood.

Like finely tattered lace, Gilgamesh created intricate music that was light and airy, its moods mostly gentle, yet its power incontrovertible. Two years had passed since the band's debut album, and the group had splintered, with the members going on to other projects. Regardless, 1977 saw keyboardist Alan Gowen begin composing music for a follow-up; he was soon rejoined by guitarist Phil Lee. Soft Machine bassist Hugh Hopper and noted Canterbury jazz drummer Trevor Tomkins completed the lineup, and work began on Another Fine Tune You've Got Me Into. 

Floating along like interlocking dream sequences, at-times approaching psychedelia, what's immediately notable about the set is its haunting, quiet center - all-the-more remarkable when created out of complex and ever-shifting time signatures. In lesser hands, the changes would tear the mood apart, but the musical riffs and swells of melodies provide the centering for the pieces, with the rhythms and music sliding and floating like drops of mercury. An excellent set from a highly talented composer and group of excellent musicians.
