Description

This famous record was made in a hotel room in Milan on 30 November 1902, during Caruso's second recording session in which he made a further ten discs.  It comes from the fabulous collection of the late Sir Paul Getty, and was sold at auction on 30 July 2013.  It is stamper III (and I'm only selling because I have recently acquired a first stamper pressing).  Speed is about 68.8 rpm.  It's always a pleasure to hear the lyricism of the young voice, and this is an excellent copy as one would expect from an item owned by Getty, with just the usual minor scuffs and superficial scratches but no actual wear or distortion.
