Description
GLASS MENAGERIE “Frederick Jordan” RARE Aussie ASTOR 7”, British heavy organ psych freakbeat
The Glass Menagerie – I Said Goodbye to Me 7” (orig. Australia Astor MONO AP-1553)
Australian Release date: November 1968 (UK Release date: 20 September 1968).
On offer here is an EXTREMELY RARE original Australian ASTOR issue of the third British 7” single by Lancashire band THE GLASS MENAGERIE. The A-side is a veiled song about suicide that originally appeared on HARRY NILSSON’s “Aerial Ballet” album. This track alone is worth the price of admission with its grandiose production and irresistible charm. However, it is the flipside composed by the band’s bass guitarist that IS the piece-de-resistance. “Frederick Jordan” is an incredible organ-led slice of heavy psychedelic rock. The band never quite managed to reach those lofty heights again!
