DESCRIPTION

Gloria Jones - “Come Go With Me” Uptown Records T-5700 (Mono) from 1966. Hard to find Original Mono Press of this great Northern Soul / Funk / R&B album from Gloria Jones. Produced by Ed Cobb and Arranged by Lincoln Mayorga. The Singer and Composer has worked with the likes of Phil Spector, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Harry Nilsson and more but is probably best known for recording the first version of “Tainted Love”. Also, known for her relationship both personal (they have a Son together) and professional with Mark Bolan of T. Rex with whom she Performed till 1977. She was actually driving the car in the accident that killed Bolan. First Pressing On the Original Black with Silver Print Uptown Mono Label. In Shrink Wrap with NO Promo markings or Barcode. Includes what I think is the Original Printed Capitol Inner Sleeve - Uptown was a subsidiary of Tower which was owned by Capitol so...

CONDITION

The Sleeve is in Shrink Wrap and in great shape. There is some very slight corner softening. There are some old price tags and residue on the shrink wrap - easily removed. There is a tiny little promo sawcut in the upper right corner. Beyond that pretty much perfect. Very close to New condition and super solid with no stains, splits, writing, tears, etc. and would easily rate Near Mint. The Vinyl is in Pristine Glossy condition looking barely played and in fact appears to be Unplayed. If you look closely you might be able to find a couple light scuffs but still very close to New condition and easily Near Mint. The Labels are Near Mint.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
