Description
This is an overall fine original mono U.S. pressing copy of the debut LP by NYC underground avant-folk-rock group the Godz, released in 1966. The group's sound is lo fi and loose improvisation, not unlike the early demos by label mates the Fugs on the Virgin Fugs LP. "White Cat Heat," for example, features a simple acoustic rave up with the group members meowing like cats in heat, while "Na Na Naa"'s title contains the song's repeated lyric line. Other pieces, like "Elevem," are more developed, but have a similarly loose feel. The jacket is close to M- with light ring and seam wear, and a little rippling in the cover slicks (EX+). This copy was one of several mono pressings per Discogs that were released in stereo jackets, and there are white-out stickers placed over the word “Stereo” on the front and back covers (see photo for example). The disc has light scuffing and loss of glossiness, and plays with light surface noise and occasional crackling and mostly light popping (VG+).
I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
