Go-Go's released their debut album "Beauty And The Beat" in July 1981 on I.R.S. Records. It reached No. 1 on the album charts and includes the hit singles "We Got The Beat" and "Our Lips Are Sealed." Every major record company passed on signing the band before I.R.S. founder Miles Copeland made them an offer for his indie label.

This copy of (SP 70021) is from the First Pressing and is in excellent condition. The cover still has its original Factory Shrink Wrap and is Near-Mint, as is the color lyrics inner sleeve. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is easily VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound in NYC and this copy was pressed at the Columbia Records plant in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Side One dead wax is etched A&M-SP-070021-A-T6 XG 1:16 STERLING T1 except for Sterling which is stamped.

In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.

This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 40 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
