Description
The great LUIS RUSSELL AND HIS ORCHESTRA are in fine form on this pair of 1931 performances: "GOIN' TO TOWN" and "SAY THE WORD." Henry "Red" Allen (trumpet), Dicky Wells (trombone), Albert Nicholas (clarinet) and "Pops" Foster (bass), heat up the proceedings way beyond the safety limit! The vocalist, CHICK BULLOCK, acquits himself nicely on both sides.
This original 1931 "Scroll" Victor 22789 is in clean EE- condition; light scratches, minimal wear.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing!
