Only worldwide single release of the superb Going Back To Detroit.

This single was released in 1971 to cater with demand for the effervescent timeless dancer “Sweet, Sweet Lovin’” and the wonderful Going Back To Detroit was added as the b side. Nobody paid much attention at the time but as UK Rare Soul fans added knowledge to their enthusiasm it was realised that GBTD shares the same backing track as Johnnie Mae Matthews Detroit gem “Lonely You’ll Be”.

One of several recordings made by The Platters in Detroit in attempt to get some of that Motor CIty music magic.
