Description

HERE IS a record that has puzzled me for so long that I just have to throw up my hands in defeat, and sell it to you.  On the "GOLAM'S" label, a mystery singer gives out with "HYMN OF THE MOTHER OF GOD" and "CHRISTMAS HYMN."  The label is in Arabic, Greek and English!  The Arabic and Greek are on different sides, English is on both sides.  It's a sort of Rosetta Stone.  I can't tell which language is being sung, if either! I don't know what "Golam's" was, or what the rampant lion on the escutcheon signifies! "ELECTRICAL RECORDING LABORATORIES" it says on the label, but the recording is clearly acoustic.  WHAT COULD IT MEAN! Holy Crap! I'm out of my depth here, folks.  


If you would like to take on this stupefying mystery, cross my palm with twenty shekels, and this original, c. 1925 Golem's 2508, in VV+ condition, will be yours to contemplate, and it will plague you to the end of your days.  

 

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing!  My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value.  I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all.  If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!  Shipping is done with expert care. AND WHAT are those mysterious blue cartouches or hallmarks in the upper right corner of the label's white area (see picture)? Martian autographs? I tell ya, this record’s got me STUMPED! Dis is a CATASTASTROPHE!
