Up for auction is this estate sale find.
This is a 78 rpm Goldband Records(Eddie Shuler's brainchild and company in Lake Charles, LA from the 40s through the 80s) single that discography puts between 1947 and 1953. Most discographies show both sides by Shuler's Reveliers but some show as this record does, Louisiana's Oldest String Band, the Hackberry Ramblers on the B-side.
The A-side number is G-1015A with Eddie Shuler's All-Star Reveliers playing La Valse De Meche(The Marsh[Swamp]Waltz)in Cajun French. The B-side number is a real classic, it is the legendary Hackberry Ramblers(Luterin Darbonne's famous group) doing The Misery Of a Broken Heart(in English). 
I am an amateur record collector so I won't even attempt to grade this old slate 78. I can tell you that I think it has the normal wear-and-tear of a 78 rpm record its age. The spindle-hole has wear and the paper label has come off around the hole. I did play it on my amateur record player with my amateur needle and it sounded fine. The B-side had a washboard-type scrape on it that looks bad. However, when I played it, I really couldn't hear near-the-problem I thought it was going to present and it sounded OK.
