Gomez successfully combines the old with the new. On LIQUID SKIN the band mixes touches of '60s psychedelia and hippie folk-rock with a gritty, angular, post-grunge alt-rock sensibility.
Acoustic instruments abound, buoyed by rootsy-sounding organ and the occasional electric guitar break.
At times, the songs employ funky rhythms that could only have been born in the wake of hip-hop and electronica, but the lack of electronics and programmed rhythms makes them feel entirely organic.
Gomez is more about songs than jams, but there is a sense of kinship to the expansive rock of groups like Phish and Blues Traveler. Unlike those outfits, though, Gomez retains a very British feel, whether the eclectic arrangements on LIQUID SKIN lean toward the orchestral or the pastoral.

LABELS: Clean, bright and unmarked labels with only one light spindle trace - MINT-
VINYL Visual: The vinyl surfaces still retain their original deep, like new glossy sheen but common with contemporary pressings there are some blemishes (very light and very minor) - these however, have no audio consequence - the playback is superb - NEAR MINT
VINYL Audio: Clean, bright, sharp and warm audio delivery throughout with nothing to fault (a very, very clean pressing) and it sounds great - wonderful LP. Graded MINT for audio - a beautiful, practically unplayed copy
SLEEVE: The textured centre-loading gatefold is like-new with no wear to the surfaces, edges or spine - where all text is clear and bold. A superb example - MINT
INNER SLEEVES: The two full colour photo/art card inner are unworn and practically untouched - MINT (The LPs are now housed - and will be posted in - 2 new inners (with anti-static liners) to prevent any 'knifing' damage to the original during transit)
