A Byg Virgin Production English Pressing
With 8 page lyric book by Daevid Allen (unstapled)
This is a stand out copy of this first UK edition of this legendary free-form psych/art/jazz/humourist rock classic. The record has been in a personal collection since new and has always been kept in a plastic sleeve and stored upright in a smoked free (yes really!) home.
The record album is in Nr MINT condition. I can’t see any significant marks on the vinyl. The iconic Virgin 'twins/dragon' labels (designed by Roger Dean) are clean with no writing or labels. I don’t see any spindle wear. I played the record and it sits flat on the turntable and plays cleanly sounding great overall with only occasional pops, no jumps or skips. The run-outs on both sides play as endless tracks. The record does not appear to have been played or handled much.
The sleeve is in EXCELLENT condition with only light creasing, particularly to the top left of the front cover – I have tried to capture this in the pics. Otherwise, the sleeve has virtually no handling wear. Edges are straight and true and the spine text is easily readable. A really nice example of this lovely cover.
The 8 page black and white booklet with the song lyrics and Daevid Allen’s original artwork is unstapled. It’s really nice to have the words included with the album. Not many copies of the album have the lyric book.
The (replaced WH Smith) inner paper poly lined sleeve is in excellent condition and has a copy of the original music paper advert for the record when it was sold for 59p the then price of a single pasted on by a previous owner.
Please study the pictures which are part of the description. The item you see is what you will receive. I don't use stock photos.
I grade records using the 'Record Collector' grading guide, with additional description (such as Nr Mint) as appropriate.
The item will be sent carefully packed out of the sleeve in it’s poly lined inner and encased in a plastic outer sleeve in a card record mailer with an extra stiffener. I sometimes use recycled card packaging.
I am very happy to answer any specific questions you may have about record condition: I want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Please note: most of the records I sell are 25 to 50 years old. I do not play grade every record. Many are visually graded. This is usually sufficient as 99% of the time if it looks clean it will play clean. Even those that are play tested may play differently from one record player to another. Sometimes these old pieces of plastic have not been played for many years and may have a crackle or pop in them somewhere. I offer a money back guarantee if you're not happy.
I love music and have been buying and selling records, memorabilia and music related items for many years. Please check my 100% Ebay feedback since 2004 and buy with confidence.
