GONG: Gazeuse! (Virgin, OVED 18, LP)
This is probably the most jazz-rock fusion that Gong got. Some of the old sound remains, thanks to Didier Malherbe still being in the band, but Allan Holdsworth's searing guitar brings to mind the later Soft Machine, with a bit of a nod to Hatfield & the North's Phil Miller at the start of 'Shadows Of', a Holdsworth composition, and he would later push the original UK in the same sort of direction.
I bought this new on release and played it a handful of times at most. The sleeve went straight into a PVC sleeve (not included) and I put the record into a poly-lined sleeve and basically filed it in the collection, where it has been sitting ever since. The sleeve is EX+ and the record plays at EX+.
* * * * Records generally have hairline or other surface marks from removal from/insertion into sleeves - these are not mentioned unless causing audible noise. Records are play tested unless stated and any defects over and above what should be expected of the generic Record Collector grading are described in the listing. Please look at the photos carefully for condition of sleeves, etc.

* * * * All items are from my own various collections and most have been in storage for 20+ years. Lockdowns (and various heart ops.) made me wonder why I have thousands of records that I will never choose to listen to again.
