Description
A 33 1/3 RPM vinyl mono LP, "The Sound Of 65" by The Graham Bond Organization
Graham Bond was one of the pioneers of the British rhythm & blues boom of the early 60s. His band played a hard-driving fusion of jazz and blues. The band featured musicians who went on to be major players in rock and jazz fusion. Bond was among the first musicians to use the classic Hammond B-3 organ and Leslie cabinet combination
On this recording the band was Graham Bond - vocals, Hammond B-3 organ, alto-sax; Dick Heckstall-Smith - tenor-sax; Jack Bruce - vocals, acoustic & electric bass, harmonica; Ginger Baker - drums
This was the band's debut album, released in 1965. Chris Welch of 'Melody Maker' suggested it 'may have been the greatest album of the Sixties'!!!
It features traditional and modern blues classics, original group compostions... oh, and a cover of Debbie Reynolds' 'Tammy'!

The sleeve has a laminated front cover, with flipbacks, featuring a jagged, dark cityscape against a fiery sky.
The rear cover has a full track listing and sleeve notes relating a short biography of the band, and a band photo.
Original British pressing on the Columbia label with blue/black labels
Original poly-lined inner sleeve with record care instructions, promoting the use of Emitex cleaning cloths.

Condition
I would grade this record as VG+.
No noticeable marks or scratches. There are some very faint pops but they are hardly noticeable. Plays well
The sleeve is VG. There are some marks, a little grubby around the flipbacks. There is a biro signature (sadly not one of the band's) in the rear, top, right-hand corner. Also a small label tear in the top left. Some edge wear at the opening and corners (see photos)
Inner sleeve is very good and completely intact
