Description
This is a fine copy from a mid-1970s U.S. pressing of the first solo LP by Gram Parsons, released in 1973, the year Parsons died by overdose at age 26. Parsons' brief, restless career featured stints with the International Submarine Band, the Byrds (on their landmark country-rock LP, Sweetheart of the Rodeo), and the Flying Burrito Bros. His first solo LP features country songs and a couple of sax-driven rockers, mixing originals and covers. (For those into the minutiae: original 1973 pressings had the same tan Reprise label, but lacked the Warner Bros. address and WB logo in the label's bottom rim text. This copy's labels have both.) The gatefold jacket is close to M- with light ring, corner, and seam wear (EX+). The disc is clean with some light scuffing on side 1, and plays close to M- with occasional light surface noise (EX+). There is a little writing in pen on the side 1 label (see photo). The record comes with the original label inner sleeve.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
