Description
This sale is for a very nice and very portable old gramophone..with a load of RECORDS...even the sleeves are interesting.
The make is as it says.......Grafonola Viva - tonal Columbia Model No 211b Serial no. b/b 487
Further description reads Made in England..."war finish" this item is in very good shape to be playing for 75 years...most of the records too are in their original sleeves.
Closer inspection includes the following .. French Girard mechanism ...would date to 1936 and cost about £3-10/-
It works very good and is pretty loud with "loud" needles in a tin marked Sankster...
The chrome is remarkable and as smooth and bright as you would wish it....turntable is working good, the brake does its job
the speed regulator is also working fine...
The exterior casing is good but the actual covering is bubbly in places, the lid has had its hinges replaced at some time..
otherwise it is in its original condition......not as smooth of course as a cd player, but they never were........
NEXT.... I also have at least 24 records all 78 rpm to go with it, so all in it can weigh quite a bit..pick up welcome but can deliver by courier, check for cost, always kept to a minimum. all in at a guess uk post would be apx,.£12 for all inc the gramophone
