GRANT GREEN “I Want To Hold Your Hand” Blue Note 4202, “P”,  “RVG”, Original Mono Vinyl.

This is the original 1965, mono, “Van Gelder” stamped, “P” pressing of GRANT GREEN’s “I Want To Hold Your Hand” on New York USA labels of Blue Note BLP 4202. Musicians include Grant Green, Hank Mobley, Larry Young, Elvin Jones.

VINYL is in nice condition, with a handful of feelable 1” scratches. Consistent low-level surface noise and briefly sounding ticks. Good gloss.  No warps. No distortion. One skip: Side 1, #1. As will all Lexington to New York USA pressings, imperfections to do not significantly detract from the sound of these amazing “RVG, “P” pressings. The music is clear as a bell, rich, forceful and dynamic. Tone is full, warm, lush, and powerful. The New York USA (“R” under “Note”) labels are in very good condition with some foxing and minimal spindle wear.

Front COVER is in very good condition; no spine splits, no seam splits! Stain top right corner. Spine is in very good shape, see photos. Corners worn.  The “43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket is also in very good condition, w/minor aging. No ringwear. See photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, Heed Quasar Phono stage and Quad S2 speakers.
