Description
GRANT GREEN “I Want To Hold Your Hand” RVG, P, DG, Blue Note BLP 4202 Mono Vinyl
This is 1966, first edition, “VAN GELDER” stamped, “P” pressing of GRANT GREEN’S “I Want To Hold Your Hand” on the “New York USA” labels of Blue Note BLP 4202. Musicians include Grant Green – guitar, Hank Mobley - tenor saxophone, Larry Young – organ, Elvin Jones - drums.
VINYL plays with very light background noise which is largely consumed and hidden by the music. This quiet performance/recording plays very nicely overall. Occasional pops and ticks. Ensemble sections are very clear, dynamic and strong. No distortion. No skips. Very Good gloss. Both sides very clean, a few non feelable hairline marks. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “New York USA” labels are clean, spindle wear. See photos.
COVER is in good shape. Cracking, wrinkling present. Corners worn. Top of cover shows tape remnants (1/3”). Top and bottom seam much cracking, taped. Spine taped. See photos. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket shows wear, stains, chipping at bottom seam. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
