This auction contains an extensive, rare and to my knowledge complete collection of Promotional mailings for both Grateful Dead Records and Round Records released in the mid-70's including three 7" singles/EP's, miniature reproductions of various label cover artwork and a number of mailings and letters including news, photos and plenty of artwork. Begining with the three records the first "Sampler For Dead Heads" is from 1974 and features two tracks from "Garcia" (the second solo album) on the A-side and three from Robert Hunter's "Tales Of The Great Rum Runners" on the b-side, followed by two 1975 "Sampler For Dead Heads" begining with SMP 02 with a pair of tracks from the debut "Old & In The Way" album on Side 1 b/w "Keith And Donna", and finally SMP 03 dedicated to Robert Hunter's "Tiger Rose" on the A-side and Phil Lesh & Ned Lagin's Sea Stones (sic) on the flip these are all in excellent shape having been played but well preserved and close to "as new" condition. Next up are ten separate mini-LP art reproductions printed on heavy stock paper and measuring 5"x5" each there is one for "Garcia" (the second solo album), "Reflections", "Blues For Allah", "Grateful Dead From The Mars Hotel", "Tales Of The Great Rum Runners", "Tiger Rose", "Keith & Donna", "Kingfish", "Old & In The Way" and there are acutally two of "Seastones" meaning there's really 11 in all but I just counted it once, and once again this are in outstanding Near Mint condition. There are six additional letters/newsletters and although you can't see it all in the photos they all open up either into poster size, sometimes unfolding just once and others times opening several ways, and a couple are booklets with artwork, tour information, cartoons, even a greeting card type letter addressed to Deadheads relating to the mid-70's "VACATION" both before and during, tour information for Fall 1973 dates and even a technical breakdown of the great Wall with a diagram I've spread open to show you in one of the photographs. Best of all everything here is in great shape except one of the mailings has quite a bit of what I believe is coffee that was spilled particularly on the outside pages but once again this is a rare collection and all things considered has survived beautifully and many of the pieces here are flawless as well.
