GRATEFUL DEAD~AIN'T IT CRAZY~VERY RARE ORIGINAL 1970 LIVE ALBUM~EX CONDITION!

GRATEFUL DEAD "AIN'T IT CRAZY" APOCALYPSE RECORDS 743
BEAUTIFUL COPY OF THIS RARITY THAT WAS ISSUED IN VERY LIMITED NUMBERS OVER 40 YEARS AGO!! RECORDED AT WINTERLAND, S.F. IN OCTOBER OF 1970 AND MASTERED FROM A LIVE RADIO BROADCAST! INCLUDES PIGPEN'S SIGNATURE COVER VERSION OF THE LIGHTNIN' HOPKINS FOLK/BLUES SONG, "AIN'T IT CRAZY"! This was played by the Dead a dozen times in 1970 and 1971, and before that in 1964 by Mother McCree's Uptown Jug Champions before the Dead proper were formed.It seems clear that the Dead knew this song as "The Rub". In July 1964, for example, Bob Weir introduces it by saying that Mr Pigpen McKernan is going to sing a Lightnin' Hopkins song - The Rub. But Lightnin' Hopkins recordings have it under the title "Ain't It Crazy", "Mighty Crazy" or "The Crazy Song."
THE DEAD AT THEIR VERY BEST!!
COVER IS SLIGHTLY BENT BUT IN EXCELLENT OVERALL CONDITION. VINYL IS MINT MINUS WITH NO SIGN OF HAVING BEEN PLAYED. IT DOES HAVE SOME PRESSURE MARKS FROM BEING STORED FOR OVER 4 DECADES.
WITHOUT QUESTION, THIS IS THE BEST COPY THAT WE'VE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO OFFER IN OVER 20 YEARS!

RECORD GRADING POLICY
MINT = like new or near new with only one or two small insignificant defects, a 9 or better on a 1-10 scale
EXCELLENT = Would be Near Mint, except for a couple of light hairlines or scuffs, which do not affect play
VG++ = still a very nice record with all or nearly all of its original gloss but may have a few more light, surface marks, hairlines, needle tracks or the like which should not materially affect play
VG+ = a nice, but used record that may have a series of light scuffs or scratches. It probably plays with a few pops, but has no serious problems.
VG = a well-used record that still should sound OK when played, but may have moderate surface noise, pops, etc.
VG- = a very well-worn record that plays through without skipping, but will do until a better copy comes along.
Good = not actually good at all but probably will play through but with much in the way of surface noise, pops, crackles, etc. Still, will have no cracks, chips or the like
Fair = you’re getting this record just to own but not to play
Poor = the sky’s the limit, generally I will discard a record this bad (and sell the cover, jacket or sleeve alone) unless the label holds some particular interest

PLEASE NOTE: We have set our shipping prices to cover costs on an average basis. You may be charged slightly more - or less - than the actual cost of postage; Priority postage varies according to destination, records and jackets vary in weight, all of which makes it impossible to set an exact "correct" price for all customers, especially internationally. We ship all LP's in new (unused) custom LP mailers. We pack records with filler pads, placing the disc in an inner sleeve outside the cover to prevent seam splitting in transit. Part of our postage fee covers the cost of the mailer and pads (which currently costs us up to a dollar per).
