Description

  • The Grateful Dead released their triple-disc live album "Europe '72" in November 1972 on Warner Bros. Records. It was recorded in April and May at five venues although most of the tracks are from shows at Olympia Theatre in Paris and The Lyceum in London. It was also the last full recording with original member Ron "Pigpen" McKernan who died in 1973. "Sugar Magnolia" became a surprise hit when it was released as a radio-friendly length single.

  • This copy of (3WX 2668) is from the First Pressing and is in very good condition for a nearly 50-year-old record. The triple-gatefold cover is solid and does show some minor wear but is still easily VG+ and the glossy 8-page Color Booklet insert is in mint condition. Please see the pictures. The 3 discs with the original Green first pressing Warner Bros. labels all play cleanly and are also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered at Artisan Sound Recorders in Hollywood and this copy was pressed at the Columbia Records plant in Santa Maria, Calif. The Side One dead wax is etched \ 3WX 2668-A 40324-1A and a stamped Artisan Sound logo.

  • In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.

  • Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.

  • This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 49 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
