Description

This is a very good copy from a 1976 U.S. reissue (a Jacksonville pressing per the runout #s) of the Grateful Dead's 1969 double live LP.  Unlike their early studio LPs (1968's Anthem of the Sun partially excepted), the group's live shows featured long jams in which one song blended into the next.  Given the limitations of the vinyl format, it was impossible to more than approximate that experience on record.  Side 1's 23 minute version of "Dark Star," the studio version of which was released the previous year as a single, comes the closest to doing so.  The record also features versions of "Saint Stephen" (from Aoxomoxoa), the previously unreleased "The Eleven," and extended covers of "Turn on Your Lovelight" and the old blues/gospel song "Death Don't Have No Mercy."  The gatefold jacket has part of a sticker on the back cover; ring wear and scuffing; corner, spine, seam, and edge wear,; and creasing in a couple of corners and along the spine -- VG(+).  The discs have some fingerprints, scraping, and scuffing, and play with mostly light surface noise and occasional crackling and light popping (side 1 ("Dark Star") plays somewhat better: in the lower EX range) -- overall VG+.

I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades.  All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets.  The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves.  I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.

If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
