Description
Up for auction is a nice original pressing of the Greatful Dead album Workingman's Dead, originally released on WB records (WS 1869)) in 1970:
-Guaranteed original pressing, NOT recent reissue -Original Olive Green WB labels -T1 Terre Haute pressing etched in deadwax
-Original matte textured cover w/ upside down rear
-Original WB date-correct paper inner sleeve -No UPC/bar code on cover
-Vinyl comes in poly-lined audiophile inner sleeve
Condition: Cover is beautiful, no significant signs of wear or age. No ring wear or seam splits. Corners are sharp, not bumped. Spine clean and titles clear. Back is super clean. Shrink is clean with a closed tear on right lower right. Looks much like it did when pressed in 1970.
Grade: Near Mint (NM)
Vinyl is nice, still retains its original glossy shine. Side One shows a few faint superficial hairlines. Side Two shows some faint superficial pressing "rash" that doesn't affect quality of playback, which is excellent. Labels are clean, no wear around spindle holes. Spot-tested, sound quality is very nice, with some typical background pressing noise on the run-in grooves, which fades away once music kicks in. Looks like this record has been played a few times but handled with care.
Grade: Excellent Minus (EX-), better than typical VG+ copies
