GRAVY TRAIN - (BALLAD OF) A PEACEFUL MAN
A brilliant condition copy of this 1971 UK 1st press prog rarity with gleaming, sparingly played vinyl, gorgeous original gatefold sleeve and wonderful STEREO sound quality throughout - there can't be many better!
Year/Label : UK VERTIGO Swirl 1971
Label number : 6360 051
Matrix numbers : 6360051 1Y//1 / 6360051 2Y//1
Stampers : 1 1 3 / 1 1 1
Rare and highly sought after 1971 UK 1st press prog gem. Excellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl with beautiful jet black sheen which in normal daylight comes across as being completely unmarked. With close inspection under a bright light you may just be able to detect one or two small and wispy hairlines and faintest of faint paper scuffs but that's it! Clearly this record has been sparingly played and well looked after. Each label is excellent plus (EX+) with all text and the iconic Vertigo swirl remaining perfectly intact, and with just a few small and extremely faint spindle trails on each label. The iconic, front-side laminated original gatefold outer sleeve is in excellent (EX) condition with firm, unscuffed edges, rigid spinewith all spine text remaining perfectly intact, near perfectly defined right angled corners with minimal rubbing, no cardboard creasing or laminate lifting, and no unwanted writing. The only blemishes are just a few 1cm (or less) very light, surface only laminate creases adjacent to the spine and top edge on both the front and reverse sides, and some very minor fraying on the front side opening edge which I have tried to show in my photos. Impressive! Truly excellent (EX) STEREO sound quality with no skips, repeats, jumps, clicks, distortion, or interference and any background crackle is at an absolute minimum...negligible in fact, and restricted to some barely noticeable background static during a couple of the intermissions only. Outstanding tone and cystal clear vocals and instrumentation with every track a great listen. Comes complete with original and excellent plus (EX+) condition original poly-lined Vertigo swirl inner sleeve with no side splits, tears or age discolouration and minimal creasing. Brilliant!
Rare, highly sought after and very difficult to find now - especially in such wonderful condition and audio quality as truly impressive as this.
POSTAGE COSTS :
For the UK £9 using Royal Mail special delivery;
for continental Europe £14 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked/signed for,
and for the rest of the world £20 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked/signed for.
I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.
Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
