Description
Gregor Zwekan (sometimes misspelled 'Gregor Zvekan'), a Yugoslavian Wilson Pickett-impersonator, Soul-singer and hip-cat recorded his sole Vinyl-outing at Amadeo studios in 1970. Honestly, we don't know much about that guy but he left us one hell of a stunning Soul Beat-45 showcasing the intense Viennese production values of the day... Arranged by profilic Jazz-, Pop- and Easy Listening-conductor Robert Opratko and composed by Underground Folk-hero Jack Grunsky (later recording artist for German Kuckuck Krautrock-label and former member of the Jack's Angels) this 45 is an outstanding example of sophisticated whilst highly danceable Euro-Jazz/Soul Pop of the ealy 1970s. PLUS: Zwekan must have been heavily under the influence of Arthur Brown's 'Fire' or totally drugged when he recorded his godly sreamo-vocal parts. Easy to believe everyone called him an outsider. A totally unknown Dj-record.
HAVE A LISTEN TO THE SOUND SAMPLES! Vinyl looks great, only small hairlines detected. Loud pressing recommended for DJ-parties. Label on side B has the typical 'R'-stamp that you will find on 80% of all late-60s-Amadeo-singles. Cover is in great shape: A bit of ringwear, that's all. VERY RARE!
