Description
Ingenue comedienne Gretchen Yates made only this one recording - and what a loss to posterity, as she is wonderful! Here, in London in 1916, she sings Herman Finck's song 'Oh What A Naughty Old Gentleman Father Must Have Been' - with orchestral accompaniment conducted by the composer - an Original Cast performance from the 1916 Shaftesbury Theatre Musical 'My Lady Frayle' on 12" HMV C679. On the reverse fellow cast member Annie Croft sings 'Day By Day'. Side one is a stunner and one of my most played Musical Comedy records - oh, and it's a rare one too! CONDITION: A very clean V+ copy.
