Description

This massive 100% French 1974 import stereo 5LP box set (five discs) from EMI (165-12831/5) features a large selection of Gabriel Fauré's works. All are performed by Elly Ameling (soprano), Gérard Souzay (baritone) and Dalton Baldwin (piano).
The large (album-sized) 32-page booklet contains extensive album notes in French by Jean-Michel Nectoux, as well as the full lyrics in French. (There is no English translation. This release is entirely in French only.) What appears to be a Quality Control inspection slip ("Contrôle 179") is also included.
The box has suffered several corner splits (one showing a tape repair), probably due to the sheer weight of the booklet and five discs, but its contents are all in excellent condition. There is a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back. (See Photo 2)

This is one of many titles from an extensive collection of classical LPs and CDs that we will be listing here. All have been carefully stored for many years, played only on premium equipment, and show little to no wear.
