Description

Recorded in Chicago for Germany's L & R label, this is mostly a "country blues" album with Hubert on acoustic guitar on all but one track.  He is backed by Carey Bell on harmonica on all tracks.  Bell and Hubert do all of the vocals but one that is done by Sunnyland Slim -- the title cut "Gamblin' Woman".  Slim also plays piano on this number.  This record was made with out overdubbing or studio gimmicks.  It was in essence a "live" bllues recording and done in single takes.  What you hear is what they did and it is great.  This Mint- record was recorded on January 22 nd, 1980 at Odyssey Sound Studio in Chicago. IL.  Another great Hubert Sumlin recording.
