Description

Youth and Experience by Doug Brown and the Omens.  One-sided, 33 1/3 red flexi disk from 1966, recorded by this Hideout garage band to promote Bob Griffin's candidacy for U.S. Senator from Michigan.  Bob Seger was the organ player for the Omens and is almost certainly handling keyboard duties on this song, which is in a similar vein to Brown's Hideout single, T.G.I.F., and includes a guitar break.  After being virtually unknown for 35+ years, it was finally brought to light on the great Friday at the Hideout comp a couple years ago.  This copy has a few small dimples and one crease that looks like trouble, but it plays through perfectly at only 1.5 grams on my Stanton turntable.  A very rare opportunity to pick up this Detroit garage obscurity.

I am currently auctioning about 50 rare garage 45s--check my other listings.  I'd be happy to play any of them over the phone, so drop me an e-mail if you'd like to hear anything and we'll set up a time.

GRADING
M-  A flawless or nearly flawless record that appears to have seen little or no play.
VG+  Full gloss, a few light marks.  A very, very attractive record that has seen limited play and has been well cared for.
VG   More marks and scratches, but still a nice record.  Scratches may be fairly numerous, but will be light.
VG-  Lots of marks and scratches but no gauges or major problems.  Not a beautiful record, but still serviceable, not junk.
G+ and G  Heavy wear and marks, plays through okay.
