ITEM:   Self titled vinyl LP by The Remains. Released in 1966 on the Epic Records label, catalog number  LN-24214 ( MONO ).

COMMENTS/CONDITION:  One of the All Time Great Garage LPs made. This is the first USA release LP recorded in 1966.  I played both sides of this LP completely through and the sound quality is MUCH BETTER than my physical description of the vinyl.

The vinyl has lots of surface scuffs and scratches ( some easily felt with a light fingernail pass ). There are no cracks or gouges. Like many of the 1960's thick vinyl Mono pressings, this one plays through most of the surface marks without being affected. If there is a lot of surface noise, it blends in nicely with the music and is not heard. On my system, there was an occasional click, 2 or 3 audible ( but not explosive ) pops, and 3 skips near the middle of "Lonely Week-End"  on Side 1. The rest of the record played with surprisingly good sound.

Both labels are in very good condition except for a name and underlining in marker on side 1. There are no tears, peeling edges, stickers, stains, or tape.

Cover is VG-.  There are no punch holes, saw cut notches, or clipped corners. The seams are not split, but there is heavy scratching/scraping on the edges. Front cover has noticeable ring wear and rubbing. Back cover has  chipping and small tears to the paper overlay, writing, and soiling/discoloration due to handling and storage.

Because of the scarcity of this LP, it would make an excellent listening copy to anyone who is not familiar with this group. If a collector needs this LP for his/hers library, it would also be a great filler copy until a reasonably priced copy in better condition comes along.

Please see the attached photos for close up detailed views.

Previous copies in nicer condition have sold recently for as much as $272.00 on eBay.  I have listed this one at a low starting bid, and there is  NO RESERVE .
