Description
Three unplayed vinyl Garland Jeffreys dj promotional copies. Don't know why Garland, still active at 75, has remained something of a cult artist. Rocks hard when he wants to and so, so soulful. To wit:
1. Ghost Writer, 1977 - Promo sticker on back, regular A&M label. Original dust jacket. A little bit of spine wear -- please see photo #5. Please note that legendary promo man Ron Farber underlined his name on the gatefold "muchas gracias" section. That is so Farber!
2. One-Eyed Jack, 1978 - Gorgeous condition inside and out. Promo sticker on front, white A&M promo label. Original dust jacket with lyrics. Could we take a moment to talk about Garland's sublime taste starting with Jackie Robinson photo on back jacket? Inside, Phoebe Snow & Luther Vandross on background vocals, and Dr. John on piano. Songs all original except his lovely version of "No Woman, No Cry."
3. American Boy & Girl, 1979 - Gold promo stamp on back & regular A&M label. Original dust jacket with lyrics. Chino & Lori, hope you are okay.
Shipping is via Media Mail to U.S. buyers only. Signature required.
More about the collection: All albums in this and my other listings are from my personal collection dating back to a long-ago career in rock radio. Record sales are not my livelihood, so rather than attempt to grade them using a system in which I have no expertise, I prefer to let the photos and my honest descriptions tell the story. If they're described as unplayed, it's because I never played them and there've been no other owners. (FYI, I have many albums that were played, just haven't listed them. Most are in great condition, so if you're looking for something specific, please let me know.)
