Gary Karr EXCERPTS FROM "PLAYS DOUBLE BASS" - Classic Records 1LP 200gm 45rpm Test Pressing, SEALED & MINT! This is #1 of only 10 issued.
I purchased this record here on Ebay in October 2016 during a period in which the former owners of Classic Records were disposing of their remaining assets. At 45rpm, this is as close as you'll ever get to the master tape!
Following is the original verbiage Classic used to describe the LP:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This auction is for a STILL SEALED, NUMBERED (1 of 10) 12" 45rpm Test Pressing Single marked A1 of the Classic Records 200gram issue of Gary Karr's "Sonata: Largo/ Allegro con spirit/ Adagio/ Vivace" from the album 'Double Bass'. Test pressings are highly collectible and are from the first stamper. Approximately less than 20 exist depending on the title. Test pressings reflect the closest you can get to the lacquers and hence have a special collectible value and store of value.
*45 rpm records have long been recognized as providing a higher fidelity musical experience resulting purely from the cartridge being able to extract more of the nuance from the complex vertical and horizontal groove modulations in stereo LP’s. Further, Classic Records 45 rpm “single sided” pressings dramatically reduce the mechanical resonances created by the cartridge during playback by allowing these resonances to be more fully transmitted to and absorbed by the turntable platter. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
COMMENTS: Pictures 3 through 10 show each LP corner, starting from the Front Upper Left and proceeding clockwise (Pictures 3 through 6) and in the same order for the rear (Pictures 7 through 10).
