Gary's second high school band, The Biscaines, a more seriousoutfit which boasted a sax player, recorded 'Blue Skies', an Irving Berlin instrumental, for an independent label, and gained a lenghty residency at the Riverside club in Los Angeles. There, they frequently supported crooners Pat Boone and Paul Anka, in between performing a high energy act which featured Gary attacking his drums while standing on a chair.
