Description
Eddie Cochran and his Blue Caps - Blue Jean Bop - Impossibly rare, imported 10 inch LP Capitol H-764 - 1956 Matrix Nos: H1-764 XCAP177, H2-764 XCAP178
Just to point out first: this LP is not in great condition. It sounds like it was recorded in a fish'n'chip shop, but it plays all the way through on both sides without any skips, jumps or warps. I found this in a second-hand record shop in the 1980's and thought it was so cool. I don't know how to describe the ropey cover but I'll do my best, but be sure to look at the pictures too: As you can see it has a label with a number 3 on the front; a section of print has come off on Gene's face and sections of the text on back; there is a split which almost makes another opening at the back; it has staining on the front and back with another 'star' label with a price of 36 old Australian shillings. Apart from all that it is in mint condition - only kidding! The vinyl looks in poor condition with marks and lines all over but as I have said before: lots of crackle, it plays all the way through on both sides without any skips, jumps or warps. I use an ortophon cartridge set at 1.75 grams on a Sony direct drive turntable, quite sensitive. After all the negative aspects, the positives are: it is one of the great, early rock'n'roll/rockabilly record; it is probably one of the rarest records I know, as I have never seen or heard of another for sale. So if you can't find another one from Australia in better condition, and want to own one of the rarest records issued, and you don't mind crackly records, this is for you. As you will probably guess I don't have a reserve price. If sold I will post this as a 'Signed For' delivery.
