Description

This is a very rare 45rpm vinyl single on the Decca label

"The Silent Sun" is the premiere single by English rock band Genesis.  It was written by Tony Banks and Peter Gabriel at a time when the band's potential producer Jonathan King was starting to lose interest.  Knowing that King was a fan of the Bee Gees, Banks and Gabriel wrote the song specifically to recapture his attention. The band was signed and the song was released as a single on 22 February 1968. On the flipside is "That's Me".

This single has been very well looked after for 42 years and is in very good condition.  There is a circular water-mark on the centre part of the "A" side where a white sticker was removed some time ago. This does not affect the playing of the record.
