Description
For sale is my Genesis Foxtrot album, purchased by me in 1972. It has the textured E.J day inner cover. It is
the rare 1st Uk Press with the large mad hatter vinyl inner on the Charisma label. Included is the red Charisma
promo sleeve.
Matrixes
Side 1 : CAS 1058 A-1U ‘PORKY’
Side 2 : CAS 1058 B-1U ‘PECKO’
Notes on Condition
Vinyl
Playback is mostly near perfect with the slightest background noise in the quietest of places. There is
slight clicking at the end of track 4 on side 2. Each side suffers from a few small hairline marks, but
playback is still on the whole nice and visually it still looks fresh with the inner labels being perfect.
The vinyl is graded as Very Good.
Cover
The textured cover is absolutely superb. There is very minor fringing on the top and bottom with the
spine being totally intact. The front, rear and inner of this cover is near mint. I would grade this as
Excellent, hence with very good vinyl the whole album is being graded as VG+
Sleeve
This is truly excellent, with bright unfaded red and clear unfaded black print. The only issue is slight
creasing in some areas. Overall absolutely outstanding promo cover, especially given age.
Additional information
I have noticed that other sellers sometimes state near mint or excellent but give vague information on
the record. Also some sellers state near mint or excellent and then state major faults in their description!
I have even seen sellers descriptions/overall ratings which do not match the photos where you
can see clear faults. Finally some sellers have missing parts to the record such as the promo sleeve,
but do not mention it and still grade highly! I never try to mislead or confuse people and always give
detailed information that describes the record exactly as it is.
Details of the grading system used
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in
sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in
sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on
the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Delivery
In the UK the record will be sent fully insured by 1st class recorded for £3.95. International Royal Mail
Airsure fully insured shipping is offered at £13.95. In all cases the record will be properly packaged and
protected. Collection and inspection in person is also welcome.
