Description

This was tucked away in my 80 yo sister’s garage - unplayed for 50+ years.
Visual grading: EX
Shiny with no surface marks, no scratches.
Test played using modern hifi deck, stereo cartridge through Naim SN3 and B&W 805s. No skips or clicks. Some minimal surface noise. Noticeable sibilance to vocals on both sides - more so on Silent Sun. Strings overdub unaffected so I guess sibilance is due to production/pressing rather than groove wear. Some improvement after basic cleaning and playing ‘wet’. Professional grade cleaning may improve further. Mono stylus and less revealing/sensitive speakers may also improve listening experience.
Label: minimal spindle marking. Marker pen ‘P’ on A side. Both sides of label show damage due to historic removal of some sort of adhesive tape. I’ve tried to show this clearly in pictures.
XDR - 41961 T1 - 2T stamped A side. XDR - 41862 T1 - 1T stamped on B
Slip cover may not be original but it is contemporary Decca sleeve in reasonable condition (see pics).
