Description
Purchased brand new by me in 1973 this WWA Records LP features the five player line-up of Derek Shulman on vocals, sax and recorder, Gary Green on guitar, mandolin, percussion and recorder, Kerry Minnear on keyboards, tuned percussion, recorder and vocals, Ray Shulman on bass, violin, guitar, percussion and vocals plus John Weathers on drums and percussion. Track B4 “Index”, which is only 20 seconds long, is included on the LP but is not listed on either the side 2 label or the LP’s back cover.
The LP’s front cover has a transparent foil cut-out printed with negative photos of the band members. Included with the LP is the original cardboard insert that also has negative photos of the band members. Part of this insert can therefore be seen through the front cover cut-out. The back cover lists all the tracks and players on the LP along with the production credits while the song lyrics are printed on both sides of the inner sleeve.
The LP has been cleaned, played and checked for sound quality on a Pro-Ject turntable with an ADC cartridge. Both sides are visually mint while the sound quality is excellent throughout. The only audible defects heard were one subtle click towards the end of track A3 plus a few subtle clicks towards the beginning of track B1.
Side 1 is stamped WWA 002 1V//1 11 RAYS
Side 2 is stamped WWA 002 2Y//4 11 2 5
The original inner sleeve is in good overall condition but there are creases in both bottom corners. The cardboard insert is in good condition but has some dis-colouration towards the bottom right corner. The front face of the outer cover is in good overall condition but there is a small damaged section in the top left corner of the cut-out plus some short creases on the top left and down the left hand side. The outer cover’s spine plus the top and bottom edges show signs of significant wear. The back face of the outer cover is in good overall condition but further signs of the top edge and spine wear can be seen along those edges.
The LP will be shipped via Royal Mail’s Second Class Signed For service in a stiff cardboard LP mailing carton.
UK buyers only and no Buy It Now price will be agreed.
