Description

George Harrison - All Things Must Pass

1970 U.S. Scranton Pressing | Apple STCH 639 | 3-LP Box Set | Poster

For sale is a complete vintage U.S. copy of George Harrison's All Things Must Pass, issued by Apple Records in 1970 as catalog number STCH 639.

This is the original three-record box-set configuration and includes all three LPs, the hinged outer box, the original lilac and gray printed lyric sleeves, the chartreuse Apple Jam sleeve, and the large original foldout George Harrison poster.

The exact set shown in the photographs is what you will receive.

Pressing & Label Details

This set has been identified as a Capitol Records Scranton pressing through the stamped IAM-in-triangle pressing-plant mark in the deadwax.

One runout that I personally verified reads:

Side 3: STCH-3-639-Z5 #5 /IAM\

All six record labels have been photographed individually so collectors can review the pressing characteristics directly.

Of particular interest, the Side 3 label reads “AWAITING ON YOU” rather than “Awaiting On You All.” This is a documented early U.S. label variation. Side 1 carries the corrected G. Harrison / B. Dylan songwriting credit for “I'd Have You Anytime.”

The orange printed interior of the box is also the no-address configuration: the credits conclude with “Produced by George Harrison and Phil Spector for APPLE RECORDS.” without the later 1700 Broadway manufacturing-address line beneath it.

Interestingly, the orange box track listing itself gives the complete “Awaiting On You All” title while the Side 3 record label reads “AWAITING ON YOU.”

I have tried to document the physical characteristics of this copy carefully without making unsupported rarity claims. The photographs of all six labels, record surfaces, box, sleeves and poster are included so knowledgeable collectors can evaluate the pressing for themselves.

Seller’s Note on Condition & Care

I grade conservatively, or not at all.

All three records show honest signs of previous handling, including light surface marks, sleeve scuffing, and hairlines that become more apparent under direct lighting. I intentionally photographed all six record surfaces under strong light so buyers can get a realistic look at the vinyl rather than having normal wear disappear in flattering photographs. I do not see anything I would characterize as severe damage or obvious warping.

The records have been partially play-tested through spot-checks rather than listened to from beginning to end. The passages tested tracked without skipping. As with any previously played vintage record, some background surface noise should be expected.

The original box shows shelf rubbing, scuffing, age spotting, and edge and corner wear from storage. All three original printed inner sleeves remain present and show age and handling wear. One sleeve has a previous owner's handwritten notation beside the printed lyrics, which is clearly shown in the photographs.

The original large foldout poster is included and shows normal fold and handling wear from age.

Please review the photographs and attached video carefully. All six labels and vinyl surfaces are shown, and the exact set pictured is the set you will receive.
