Description
Capitol T1003 mono recording George Shearing Quintet with Dakota Staton 1958 “In The Night” original vinyl LP.
Superb quality vinyl. Play-graded Excellent Condition. High shine looks virtually new and plays super quiet with rare intermittent surface noise between the occasional track. No major snap, crackle or pop. No skips.
Capitol turquoise label LP’s are known for their recording quality and this disc does not disappoint, superb dynamics and great range, including bass, especially for an album from 1958. A treat to say the least.
D2/D5 stampers.
Beautiful vinyl carefully cleaned with Spin Clean MKII Record Washer prior to play-grading.
This is some of Shearing and Staton’s finest work, according to some sources. I’d agree- the two opposites complement each other in this bop jazz album, Shearing’s crew shines, including the great Toots Thielman on guitar, his bread and butter in those days before he fell completely in love with the jazz chromatic.
Labels clean and text easily readable. Spindle hole in good shape.
Jacket graded Excellent Condition. Fiber, spines and lamination in great shape. Colors bright and artwork shows well.
Minor RH edge wear on front cover as shown, two old price stickers on rear as shown, very minor ring wear rear cover.
Paste-on cover photo by famed American jazz artist photographer Chuck Stewart.
Original Capitol liner.
Well cared for album from a private collection.
Ships in courtesy 4mm poly jacket sleeve and professional grade packaging to protect your investment.
