Description
This is a wonderfully rare 1956 UK pressing of The George Wallington Quintet's album "Jazz For The Carriage Trade", featuring a young Donald Byrd on trumpet, along with the great Phil Woods on alto, Teddy Kotick (bass) and Art Taylor (drums). This is the UK Esquire pressing which is the equal of the original US Prestige pressing in every respect, and bears all the detail of the US original master metalwork, including Prestige catalogue numbers and Rudy Van Gelder hallmarking.

Although the sleeve is a little tatty, as I've tried to show in the pictures, the vinyl itself both looks and plays beautifully, as so often with Esquire and Prestige records of this era and quality. All in all, a record to treasure.
