Description
British 1st release of film soundtrack compilation ’The Spectacular World Of Classic Film Scores’ (1976), performed by Charles Gerhardt conducting The National Philharmonic Orchestra.
This is one of the most widely praised re-recordings in cinematic history. They were produced by George Korngold, son of Erich Wolfgang, between 1973 and 1978. Also included is an illustrated 4-page insert with interview of Charles Gerhardt by Christopher Palmer on the Classic Film Scores series.
Charles Gerhardt, National Philharmonic Orchestra ?– The Spectacular World Of Classic Film Scores (1976)
Condition (refer also to notes at bottom): Vinyl: VG-EX. Looks very clean on visual inspection. One tiny hairline scuff on side 1 but no other marks, scuffs or hairlines across either side. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is great throughout. Some mild surface noise at run-in of each side and the odd light static click but orchestral clarity is sharp. Plays with no skipping, jumping or sticking. A superb listening experience.
Outer Sleeve (Cover): VG. Colours clear and unfaded. Superb laminated front and back. Disc ring impression visible. Creasing in from spine and dent in bottom left corner. Diagonal creasing and bowing in bottom right and a crease in top right. Corners slightly discoloured and worn but edges and spine clean and unmarked. Aperture in great shape too. Back sleeve has slight discolouration around edges but text readable and clear. A few more creases and nicks to aperture from this side.
Inner Sleeve: VG-EX. Original. White RCA poly-lined paper with square corners and central hole. Small tear to one side flipback. Minor creases/folds through normal handling. Insert booklet: EX. No rips or tears but a few minor creases and the odd tiny stain but nothing major.

ITEM CONDITION - items are graded according to Record Collector definitions - see below:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
