Description
Gerry Lockran - Hold On - I'm Coming
(Planet Records PLL 1002 UK LP 1966)
This is a UK original Mono LP pressing. It has a front laminated flipback sleeve. It comes with its original polythene lined company inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has textured "Planet" labels. It has 1st press 1L#-1/ 2L#-1 matrix stampers.
This is a very rare mid 1960's UK Blues-Folk-Jazz LP. It crosses a few genres. The track "Soulful Dress" is a bit of a uptempo "Mod Dancer" track for example. Gerry is backed by Danny Thompson on double bass, Tony Cox on drums and Ray Warleigh on sax & flute. This is one of the two LP's to be released on Shel Talmy's highly collectible 1960's "Planet" label. This LP seldom turns up.
Sleeve: A price (22/6) has been written in red felt tip on the rear sleeve. There is some light to mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some light fading to the white of the rear sleeve. There is some light or very mild ringwear. VG+ condition
Vinyl: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There are about 6 light hairline marks. These measure from 1 cm to 6 cm in length. One of the hairline marks (3 cm) appears to be a pressing error as it is pressed into the grooves. VG condition. The labels are in near excellent condition & show mild or very mild spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in VG condition. There is some light to mild ringwear & creasing. There is some more moderate fading. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays VG+ overall & Near Excellent in some places . There are some intermittent light clicks on Side 1. It starts on track 3 and goes into track 4. It doesn't last too long. Otherwise, there is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places.
