Description

An original 1964 1st press of  GETZ / GILBERTO on USA VERVE. Matrix RE2/RE3. The vinyl comes housed in an original heavy-card gatefold [technically a mono cover by the looks of it]. It should say 'stereo' top right - that's all. We will ship in a Nagoaka anti-static inner.
Vinyl (Vg+/Ex-) In great shape and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Very delicate audio you're gonna need a clean decent copy to stand half a chance of revealing this fantastic audio to full effect.  A pretty clean player. IPENEMA plays good but with the odd static crackle here and there, and maybe an isolated solitary tick. So - this track grades VERYGOOD+ and no better. Corcovado exhibits very brief minor distortion [matter of seconds] toward the end of the track. Other than that tracks are playing very nice and clean. You are getting the full effect. These other tracks I would grade at NEAREXCELLENT by and large. Not perfect - but I expect no copies from this period are now perfect. Basically a super player which will get you straight back into that '63 vibe! A few crackles in one spot per side - which is frankly an excellent strike rate.
Cover (Vg+) Super condition - particularly given the vintage. Lovely flat and clean without creasing or fading. Front and rear are equally good looking. The interior shows light ageing as is difficult to avoid - but still very tidy and more than acceptable. Please note there are some 'ticks' marked against the track timings. Minimal edge wear and firm openings. Spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
