⸻
When pop, funk, and Hollywood collided, the Ghostbusters soundtrack captured the sound of 1984’s neon optimism. A rare Australian pressing of this iconic album, showcasing a lineup that bridges blockbuster soul, synth-pop, and new-wave funk—all wrapped in that unmistakable Arista gloss.
Ray Parker Jr. opens with the instantly recognizable theme—equal parts disco and midnight funk—followed by a who’s who of ‘80s radio staples: Thompson Twins, Air Supply, Laura Branigan, The BusBoys, and Alessi.
Composer Elmer Bernstein brings cinematic depth to close out the record, making this a true pop-meets-orchestra experience.
For collectors, this Australian edition stands out for its label variations and rarer sleeve design—seldom seen in such clean condition.
