PROVENANCE

The record has amazing provenance,my Father-in law toured the states with his band(The Electrons,sadly never made it!)

They attended a talent showcase which was attended by Robert "BUMPS"Blackwell who was promoting his new talent and label,on hearing that my father in law might be able to get some of his records played on radio in the UK he gave him a couple of records Gil Bernal and Lucius Wilson(I need you).

He even bought the band a round of coca colas which there are still small stains of on the label where it spilled!!!

On returning to the UK they never went to a radio station but have stayed in a drawer for 50 odd years.

 

I have been in touch via forums to several record dealers in the States who have been very helpfull with the info of this record.

It has been suggested that there are only 10/20 of this records left in existance,and there may has ever only been a run of a couple of hundred which virtually all went to radio stations and were lost or thrown away when they got scratched.

 

I have been offered a reasonable sum for it,but the record dealers i have contacted obviously want to make money out of this also.

My father in law says he would rather the record goes to someone who will appreciate it as he did many years ago,ironically the band much prefered the Lucius Wilson disc so that got played much more,it wouldnt be fair to split these boys up as they have been together for so long so Lucius will be sent along aswell.

 

Ive set a reasonable reserve of  $500 which is the sum offered to me already.
