Gil Melle Andromeda Strain Vinyl LP Test Pressing Monarch KS 3648 Hexagonal VG This is an incredibly scarce Monarch Records test pressing of GIL MELLE'S historic, custom-engineered electronic score for Robert Wise’s 1971 sci-fi cinema classic, The Andromeda Strain. Famous for its iconic avant-garde approach and its unique, highly collectible hexagonal-shaped presentation, this test pressing is a must-have Holy Grail for serious electronic music historians, soundtrack completionists, and rare vinyl collectors alike. VG (Very Good)
- Visual: The vinyl shows light, superficial handling marks and faint sleeve scuffs consistent with a historic test pressing. It retains a nice gloss.
- Audio Playback: Fully audio tested. The record plays through completely without skips. There are some light pops and standard low-level background surface noise typical of early electronic music pressings, but it does not overpower the music. A solid, enjoyable listen of a pioneering electronic score.
