Description
Hello record collectors and vinyl junkies, I'm in the process of selling off the majority of my record collection to finance the ongoing restoration of a classic car...hopefully without going bankrupt! So please check back often, as I'll be listing hundreds of LPs over the next few months.
Anyway, let's continue with this one by Glenn Douglas Heartbreak Alley released by Decca Records in 1958. (DL 8748 monophonic). This is a pink label promotional copy.
This is a hard to find release by Glenn Douglas Tubb, who is the nephew of Ernst Tubb. Wanting to make a name for himself in country music while not relying on the "Tubb" name he chose to release the album using the name Glenn Douglas. The album did not sell well and quickly went out of print & faded into obscurity. While Glenn never became a famous singer, he became well known for his songwriting skills with his songs being recorded by dozens of country legends including Johnny Cash, George Jones, Bob Dylan, Tammy Wynette, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Kitty Wells, Ernest Tubb, Hawkshaw Hawkins, Dwight Yoakum to name a few.
Glenn was also nominated for a Grammy Award in 1969 for his composition Skip-A-Rope recorded by Henson Cargill
Hank Williams Sr's wife, Audrey found lyrics that were left behind by Hank after he passed away She gave the lyrics to Glenn who she thought would finish the song as Hank would have wanted the song to sound. he put the lyrics away for many years but in the early 1970's he finished the song as "Heartbroken Forsaken and Alone"
Please see cover and label photos above for complete track listings.
LP has a few light marks that cause occasional minor surface noise when played. The top seam on the cover is split all the way across and there is wear along the spine and bottom seam. The cover also has some age discoloration on the back but no writing, cut out marks, rips, tears or other issues.
Please feel free to email with any questions.

Sorry I no longer ship to Italy or the Russian Federation due to the high number of "lost" packages.
All records are mailed in cardboard record mailers with cardboard inserts to prevent damage. LP will be removed from the cover to prevent seam splits while in transit.
