Description

Up for auction is the first possible release date of the much sought after so-called Gold and Black Parlophone "Please Please Me".

After seeing the Beatles at the Odeon Cinema in Romford, Essex (England) on Tuesday the 19th of March, 1963 I heard songs from their upcoming album, "Please Please Me" which I purchased on the very first day of release, Friday the 22nd of March 1963 from the Wells Music Store in Romford, Essex, where it has remained much revered in my record collection, but now find it is time to part with it (sadly).

Condition: The vinyl has retained it's original lustre with very little to no spindle marks on either siude of the label. Both labels in lovely condition, as can be seen in the photos. Being the very first pressing possible, this has the wrong "Dick James" credits, as most true collectors would be aware of. Pressing numbers in dead wax side 1 XEX 421-1N side 2 XEX 422-1N   Also still present is the original "Emitax" inner sleeve in perfect condition. Now to the original sleeve: Front cover shows really well, very small dings in corners (barely noticeable) Laminate has held up perfectly well for it's age, no lifting or bubbling. To rear of cover: Flip-back sleeve made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. Is in nice condition, but there is small damage to top flip, and a very small paper loss to bottom right-hand corner. Other than that, this album is in lovely condition, for a record almost 50 years old, and would grace any collection.
